Azure Architect
The Azure Architect provides overall technical leadership and governance for the AKS upgrade initiative. This role ensures that the upgrade approach is aligned with best practices, minimizes risk, and maintains application availability throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning: Define and oversee the upgrade approach, ensuring a structured and phased execution across environments.
- Architecture Governance: Review and approve readiness, remediation, and design considerations to ensure platform stability and compatibility.
- Risk & Mitigation Oversight: Identify potential risks and define mitigation strategies, including contingency and recovery planning.
- Capacity & Availability Planning: Ensure appropriate scaling, availability, and workload distribution during the upgrade.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Provide guidance to technical teams and engage with stakeholders to ensure clarity on approach and execution.
- Post-Upgrade Assurance: Validate overall platform health, workload stability, and readiness for continued operations.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in designing and governing Azure and AKS environments
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes lifecycle and upgrade strategies
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, and security best practices
- Ability to lead complex, production-critical platform changes.
