Key Roles & Responsibilities

·       Leverage both primary and secondary research tools and perform a variety of research and analysis such as market sizing, trend identification, opportunity scan, growth projection, industry, and corporate profiling.

·       Analyze data with an investigative mindset using a hypothesis-driven approach to identify opportunities.

·       Conduct research and analysis across key domains including Financial Services and Healthcare

·       Understand and stay current on industry trends to develop implications and provide insights to build strategy.

·       Mine competitor corporate data to support the strategic plans and initiatives.

·       Support management team on ad-hoc strategic initiatives

·       Writing whitepapers and other thought leadership reports collaborating with subject matter experts and leaders

·  Support designing studies to gather data supporting planned research agenda for the year, in collaboration with the Thought Leadership Team (Virtusa Research Center).

·       Specialize in key business/technology trends in our chose verticals, understand the impact and potential of new technologies, macro-economic and social trends on this space.

·       Support the presentation of business and market-level findings at corporate and industry events, as well as in key client interactions. Maintain a high level of activity on internal channels amplifying findings.

·   Support the incubation and leverage of relationships with academic institutions and other external research partners.

·       Support new solution creation at the business unit level by weaving in research findings to aid in go-to-market activities. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

·    Qualification and prior work experience: MBA from a premier institution with 4-8 yrs. of experience working with a research/ consulting/ KPO firm, focusing on IT, or a respected IT services company’s research function.

·    Analytical Skills: Ability to leverage on solid understanding of macro and micro trends and issues, to deliver synthesized, actionable facts and insights, which goes towards solving client's business issues. Proven capability for conducting and managing quantitative and qualitative analysis.

·       Industry Alignment: Business/ Research exposure to IT industry.

·     Structured & Logical Thinking - The ability to understand the implications of strategic analysis, and to make well supported recommendations.

·   Technical Proficiency - Ability to gather the right data from various sources and to use Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant paid databases (Draup, IDC, Forrester, Gartner, etc) to put together effective analysis, and presentations.

·   Powerful Communication - Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both oral and written.
