Tech Lead

Key responsibilities & Accountabilities:

As a member of the Platform Development team, build the tools that evolve our Azure cloud infrastructure and .NET development reference implementations in a safe, reliable, automated and cost-effective manner, enabling our proprietary technology development teams to have the best possible development experience
Provide expertise and input into the design and implementation of solutions to enhance development experience, serving the needs of our application hosting, with particular focus on consistency, security and developer enablement
Participate in planning efforts with stakeholders and IT department
Help define and implement solutions that implement security guidelines for engineering work
Create and fully lifecycle manage C#.NET and Python reference implementations and bespoke packages that enhance the Development Experience (DevEx)
On failure events, work on fixing the issues and communicating with senior members of the team
Work as part of a small team and successfully manage your own tasks according to the larger needs of the business;

Skills & Ability

Enterprise experience of Azure
Excellent understanding of SDLC best practices, especially as they relate to Container based solutions
Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code / Desired State Configuration (Terraform, Ansible, etc)
Strong development experience with a clear knowledge of what makes good quality code (C#.NET and/or Python)
Advanced level of experience using command line/scripting tools such as Azure CLI, Bash and Powershell
Good understanding of database concepts and management
Experience with containers (Kubernetes) / service mesh / orchestration is a plus
Good understanding of Azure Platform Engineering, especially in relation to automation and yaml pipelines
Excellent understanding of DevOps-centric concepts
Good general infrastructure knowledge, including networking basics
Good general development skills
