Job Summary
ServiceNow Platform SME serves as the technical and functional authority across the ServiceNow ecosystem. This role oversees platform governance, design, integrations, and enablement across modules like ITSM, CMDB CSDM, and ITAM. The SME ensures platform scalability, compliance, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive platform health check across ITSM, CMDB, and ITAM modules
Evaluate platform architecture, customization footprint, update set structure, and code quality
Assess governance maturity including ACL design, naming conventions, update lifecycle, and environment strategy
Review instance utilization and recommend platform consolidation or domain separation strategy
Identify risks and bottlenecks affecting scalability, maintainability, and performance
Review implementation of Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management
Benchmark existing configurations against ServiceNow best practices and ITIL v4 processes
Evaluate Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent, and workflow automation adoption
Assess assignment rules, SLAs, categories, and reporting accuracy for service management KPIs
Recommend process standardization and automation opportunities for efficiency gains
Evaluate CI class models, identification and reconciliation rules, and relationships
Review discovery schedules, credentials, patterns, and coverage completeness
Identify data quality issues across completeness, correctness, compliance, and staleness dimensions
Assess CMDB integration landscape such as Tanium, SCCM, cloud, and asset feeds
Recommend CMDB governance framework including data ownership, reconciliation logic, audit, and KPIs
Review asset lifecycle processes
Validate alignment between CMDB CIs and asset records for reconciliation accuracy
Assess stockroom, consumable, and asset disposal configurations in hardware asset management
Evaluate integration with procurement tools such as ORBUS
Recommend improvements for license compliance, hardware refresh optimization, and cost control
