About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Bid Manager to join the Response/Presales team at Virtusa. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end bid management process for the Technology vertical, driving complex, multi-million dollar deals to success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring internal compliance, managing tollgates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and submit high-quality, differentiated proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Full Lifecycle Bid Management: Oversee the entire bid process, from initial opportunity identification and qualification to final contract award for large-scale IT projects.
Strategic Deal Leadership: Partner with sales teams and senior leadership to define win themes, commercial strategies, pricing, and compelling value propositions.
Collaboration: Assemble and lead high-performing, cross-functional "flying formation" deal teams, ensuring all specialists are aligned with the bid strategy.
Quality Assurance: Manage the preparation of compliant, high-quality proposal documents that align with solution tenets and win themes.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure all technical, commercial, and legal documents adhere to client requirements, regulatory standards, and internal company policies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for the Business Unit (BU) throughout the bid cycle, providing accurate, timely updates and addressing inquiries.
Global Scope: This role involves working with teams across global time zones (APAC, Americas, and EMEA). However, on a daily basis the role won’t require you to work completely in the US time zone.
Qualifications
Experience: 10–15 years of proven experience in bid management, specifically within the IT services industry, with a track record of managing complex deals exceeding $10M.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MBA or PGDM is highly preferred.
Process Expertise: Strong mastery of the full bid lifecycle, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership and program management abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Tooling Proficiency: Google Workspace Suite (preferred) and Microsoft Product Suite
