Mainframe Developer

Position Summary: Perform full life-cycle software development, including requirements gathering, software design, implementation, testing and deployment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, implement and maintain projects in GIAS universe
• Follow approved life cycle methodologies, create design documents, and perform program coding and automated testing.
• Ensure solutions comply with technology standards.
• Attend and participate in requirements review, design review, project status, QA defect tracking, and other project meetings as needed with stakeholders.
• Provide technical assistance to in resolving user reported problems.
• Help existing team members ongoing tasks

Functional Knowledge:
• Full life cycle development knowledge including specifying, build automation and deploying across application technology stack.
• Strong relational database knowledge. Ability to design and implement well-crafted, scalable, and maintainable code.  .
Business Expertise:
• Broker/Dealer back office operation knowledge is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Cobol, DB2 and JCL
• Experience in working with Changeman
• 3 years working with  DB2 stored procedures
• Experience tuning SQL queries 
• Experience working in an agile environment
