Java FSD Engineering Manager
Team Leadership & Development
o Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software developers.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development.
Technology Ownership
o Own and evolve the core technical systems, ensuring scalability, security, and
reliability.
o Provide technical guidance and make architecture decisions in collaboration
with senior engineers.
o Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
o Roll up your sleeves and go hands on as needed.
Product & Roadmap Collaboration
o Partner with cross teams and staff engineers to define and deliver the product
roadmaps.
o Translate business goals into technical solutions.
o Balance short-term priorities with long-term technical vision.
Problem Solving & Execution
o Identify bottlenecks, technical risks, and opportunities for improvement.
o Facilitate efficient problem-solving across teams and stakeholders.
o Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
Communication
o Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and act as a bridge between
leadership and the team.
To succeed in this role – you should have the following
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering experience is
a plus.
2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role, preferably
managing engineering teams of 10 - 20
Deep understanding of platforms and tech stacks such as Kafka, HBase or similar
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python or similar
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
Proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule.
Passion for technology and a commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and
advancements.
Experience building large scale systems at internet scale
