Head of Data

Job Description:

 Role

A customer-centric, intellectually curious, energetic person that can lead the data practice for Virtusa’s various BU in the US.

·       Lead a community of data/analytics professionals within the business unit

·       Understand our current offerings, evolve those, and evangelize with senior client stakeholders

·       In collaboration with Sales, develop project opportunities with new and existing customers

·       Lead technical solutioning and estimation for data/analytics proposals

·       Identify talent within the business unit and leverage same for proposals and POCs

·       Stay up-to-date and evangelize new trends in data/analytics both internally and externally

·       Advance individual and Virtusa brand through meaningful publications such as blogs and articles

·       25-50% travel depending on location (25% for NY/NJ based)

Skills

·       Understanding of the breadth of data and analytics solutions – data models, warehouses, MDM, data governance/quality, data integration, BI, and analytics

·       Understanding of cloud-based big data and warehouse solutions

·       Exposure to the use of statistical analysis and Machine Learning techniques towards building intelligent and/or predictive analytics solutions

·       Exposure to emerging/innovative Visualization paradigms

·       Ability to solution both as a solo contributor and a community leader

·       Customer-facing consulting and internal-facing collaboration and mentoring skills

·       Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills

·       Ability to collaborate effectively with both sales and technical teams as part of pre-sales

·       Understanding of various domain

Experience

·       12+ years overall experience with last 8+ years building data and analytics solutions for complex enterprises

·       5+ years of pre-sales/consulting experience in data engineering

·       Must have executed 2-3 large data engagements from inception to production as an architect

·       Experience in building/migrating to cloud-based data solutions

·       In-depth experience in building ETL solutions, data lakes, data warehouses and analytical platforms

·       Experience in non-functional/functional designs for analytics platforms

·       Working experience with Ai/ML and Data Science

·       Consulting experience with a large multi-national is a plus
