GCP Senior Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Cloud Engineer/Architect to join our team and play a vital role in building and maintaining our next-generation global payment platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires deep expertise in GCP services, hands-on experience with Kafka, and a strong understanding of global payment systems and innovation. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert, capable of designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and applications. Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP for our global payment platform.
Develop and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
Build and deploy applications on GCP, leveraging services like Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud Functions.
Implement and manage data pipelines using Kafka for real-time transaction processing and data analytics.
Ensure the security and compliance of our cloud environment, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability on GCP.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for seamless and reliable deployments.
Contribute to the development of technical documentation and best practices.
Stay up to date with the latest GCP services and features, as well as advancements in global payment technologies.
Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience (typically 5+ years for Engineer, 8+ for Architect) in cloud engineering or a related role, with a strong focus on GCP.
Deep understanding of GCP services and features, including Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
Proven expertise in using Kafka for building real-time data streaming and processing pipelines.
Strong understanding of global payment processing, including payment gateways, acquiring banks, payment networks, and various payment methods.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols. GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Engineer).
Experience with serverless computing platforms.
Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
Experience with security best practices for payment systems.
Familiarity with compliance requirements for payment processing
