Functional Data Consultant (Healthcare Domain)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Functional Consultant with a strong background in the healthcare domain to support our Unified Data Strategy Program This role is critical in aligning business needs with data capabilities ensuring that our data initiatives drive meaningful outcomes across clinical operational and business areas The ideal candidate will bring deep healthcare domain expertise data fluency and a collaborative mindset to help shape and execute our data strategy that supports data driven decision making

Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering Analysis
Engage with healthcare business stakeholders to gather analyze and document business and data requirements
Translate clinical operational and administrative needs into actionable data and process requirements
Identify pain points data gaps and inefficiencies across existing workflows and systems
Business Process Data Strategy Alignment
Document current state data challenges and define desired outcomes specific to healthcare workflows and systems
Collaborate with data engineering governance and analytics teams to design future state to be data capabilities and processes
Ensure alignment between business objectives regulatory requirements and data capabilities eg interoperability data quality and stewardship
AI Advanced Analytics Integration
Identify opportunities to leverage AI ML for use cases in healthcare operations clinical decision support and business optimization
Work with technical teams to define functional requirements for AI driven solutions
Partner with data science teams to ensure ethical and compliant use of healthcare data in AI initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement Communication
Facilitate workshops and working sessions with cross functional teams including clinicians IT and business leaders
Capture and summarize workshop notes decisions and action items
Coordinate with stakeholders to review refine and obtain sign off on key deliverables and artifacts
Documentation Reporting
Prepare high quality documentation including process flows requirement specifications and strategic recommendations
Support the creation of business cases and value realization plans tailored to healthcare environments
Contribute to governance documentation and playbooks that institutionalize data strategy practices

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Business Information Systems Data Science or a related field Masters degree is a plus
10 years of experience in a functional business consulting role with at least 2 years in the healthcare industry
Strong understanding of healthcare data standards interoperability and compliance frameworks eg HIPAA HL7 FHIR ICD SNOMED
Familiarity with data management principles data governance and analytics frameworks eg DAMA FAIR principles
Experience working with cross functional teams in clinical operational and IT domains
Excellent communication facilitation and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of data visualization tools eg Power BI Tableau Qlik
Familiarity with cloud based data ecosystems eg Azure Snowflake Databricks
Certification in business analysis eg CBAP PMP or healthcare data management eg CHDA CDMP is a plus
Exposure to modern healthcare interoperability initiatives eg TEFCA USCDI FHIR APIs
