Director COE LEAD FRONT END MOBILE ENGINEERING
Role Summary: The Centre of Excellence (CoE) Lead for Mobile App Engineering is responsible for establishing, leading, and nurturing a Mobile Engineering CoE within the organization. This role focuses on driving innovation, setting best practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of mobile applications across various platforms. The CoE Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to standardize processes, develop strategies, and implement cutting-edge mobile technologies that align with the organization’s goals. Key Responsibilities: • CoE Establishment, Strategy and Governance • Establish and lead the Mobile App Engineering Centre of Excellence by defining its vision, goals, and roadmap. • Develop and maintain a framework for Mobile App Engineering best practices, tools, and methodologies. • Establish governance models to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and compliance requirements. • Monitor and assess emerging mobile technologies, tools, and trends, recommending adoption where appropriate. • Standardization and Best Practices • Define and enforce standardized processes for mobile app development, testing, deployment, and maintenance • Promote the use of reusable components, libraries, and frameworks to improve efficiency and consistency across client projects • Ensure security best practices are integrated into mobile app development processes • Lead research and development initiatives to explore new market trending mobile technologies, frameworks, and tools. • Drive the implementation of innovative solutions that enhance the user experience, performance, and scalability of mobile applications. • Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing & pre-sales support • Organize training sessions, workshops, and seminars to up-skill team members and promote knowledge sharing • Act as a mentor and coach for mobile app engineers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and career development • Provide regular reports on the status of mobile engineering projects, innovations, and process improvements • Work with pre-sales support team in responding to RFPs/proposals by providing estimation, solutions, approaches for RFP questions. • Leadership and Soft Skills • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across SLs and with senior stakeholders. • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. • Strategic thinker with the ability to align mobile engineering initiatives with broader organisations initiatives & goals Experience: • 12+ years of experience in mobile app development, including experience in native, hybrid, and cross-platform app environments. • Proven experience in leading or managing a Mobile App Engineering team or CoE • Demonstrated expertise in mobile development frameworks, tools, and best practices Technical Skills: • Proficiency in mobile app development frameworks such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, React Native, Flutter, Ionic-Capacitor, etc. • Strong knowledge of backend integration, APIs, cloud services, and DevOps practices for mobile apps. • Experience with mobile security best practices, including data encryption, secure authentication, and compliance. • Deep understanding of mobile operating systems (iOS, Android) and their development environments. |
