Job Title: Database Project Manager

Location: Smithfield RI (HYBRID ONSITE)

Job Summary:

Virtusa is seeking a Database Project Manager to lead mission-critical initiatives focused on data migration, integration, and modernization. This role will work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to deliver projects that align with business objectives and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

Lead database-centric projects from initiation to closure
Collaborate with technical teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders
Create and manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and status reports
Drive compliance with security and data governance requirements
Communicate with vendors and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery
Apply project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) as appropriate
Manage risk, scope, and change control throughout the lifecycle

Required Skills:

10+ years of IT project management experience
2+ years managing database-specific projects
Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or cloud-based DBs
Understanding of database lifecycle, data modeling, and architecture
Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, or MS Project
