Data Governance Lead
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a leading banking client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data governance frameworks, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality, with the ability to drive enterprise-level governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current data lineage, metadata, and data quality practices
- Perform attribute-level data lineage analysis
- Identify gaps in lineage coverage and automation
- Analyze and profile data quality issues (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
- Define and implement data quality (DQ) rules, KPIs, and monitoring frameworks
- Recommend and implement metadata and data catalog strategies
- Define standards for data lineage, data glossary, and data quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure governance alignment
- Support governance initiatives in line with regulatory and enterprise standards
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and follow SDLC best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in Data Governance (Design, Development, Implementation)
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Hands-on experience with data lineage, metadata management, and data quality
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis
- Experience with tools such as Tableau, JIRA
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives
