Job Description: Accessibility (A11y) Test Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accessibility (A11y) Test Engineer to support Google-aligned products and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Accessibility Testing & Validation
Perform manual and automated accessibility testing on web, Android, iOS, and cross‑platform interfaces.
Validate compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA standards, Section 508, and Google’s internal accessibility guidelines.
Conduct testing using assistive technologies, including:
Screen readers (TalkBack, VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
Switch devices
Keyboard-only workflows (tab, focus order, shortcuts)
Zoom and magnifiers
High-contrast and color-blindness simulation tools
Issue Identification & Reporting
Document A11y defects with clear steps, expected vs actual behavior, severity rating, and remediation guidance.
Partner with engineering teams to ensure issues are understood, reproducible, and resolved efficiently.
Perform regression testing on fixes and enhancements.
Tools & Frameworks
Use industry-standard tools such as:
Axe, Lighthouse, WAVE, Google Accessibility Scanner, Color Contrast Analyzer, ARC Toolkit
Documentation & Compliance
Create and maintain accessibility test plans, test cases, execution reports, and VPAT support documentation.
Stay current on evolving accessibility standards, Google best practices, and emerging assistive technologies.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of experience in Device,OS and Accessibility Testing.
Strong understanding of accessibility principles and guidelines (WCAG, ARIA, Section 508).
Hands-on experience with assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools.
Excellent defect reporting and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Mandatory Certification
Ally Certification is a must.
